Accounting Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced accounting leader to join our growing, privately held, family-owned organization serving the advanced manufacturing, aerospace, and defense industries. This individual will play a key leadership role in supporting the financial strength, operational excellence, and continued growth of our company. Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting and financial leadership experience, with strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, ERP systems, and financial operations. This role requires a hands-on, proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates professionally, and is looking for a long-term leadership opportunity within a growth-oriented company and community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees all company accounting practices, including accounting department, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
- Manages accounting functions and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results. Establishes and maintains accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations.
- Supervises professional and/or clerical accounting employees.

Coordinates financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with department heads, and confirming with president.

Supervises investment and raising of funds for business.

- Studies, analyzes and reports on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
- Job costing review and product cost improvement
- Responsible for oversight and communication to related entities as agreed to by President.
Performs other duties as assigned by management. (Attached document if necessary).
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred, including cost accounting and inventory management
- Experience in a small to mid-sized privately held business environment where individuals wear multiple hats
- Strong understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis is a plus
- Experience leading accounting teams and improving processes/systems
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and support a fast-paced operation
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and communication skills
- Preference for candidates seeking a long-term leadership opportunity within a growth-oriented company and culture.
Experience
CPA preferred with 5+ years of accounting and financial leadership experience
